Using Self-Determination Theory, this presentation will provide insight into Chinese adult ESL learners’ learning motivation, interests, and classroom engagement. Also, the cultural application within this theory will be discussed.

Searching for “Fun”: Using Corpora in the ESL Classroom

Presenter will demonstrate an inductive corpus activity designed for intermediate adult ESL learners. The purpose of the activity is to familiarize students with the Davies Corpus of Contemporary American English so that they can independently perform searches to enhance their English language learning.

English Grammar and the Korean Learner
