ELECTRONIC VILLAGE

Come explore new frontiers in digital technology and their application to language teaching at the Electronic Village. Current hot topics include the use of blogs for writing instruction, creating audio files to post online, Web 2.0, and classroom use of the interactive whiteboard.

The expanded Electronic Village includes four rooms at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Browsing and Fairs

The Electronic Village in room C211A will be open all day Friday and Saturday with volunteers available to answer questions and assist you. Join us and get some practical tips for your class. Also in the Electronic Village will be a three fairs.

Internet Fair – Friday, 10:00 am – 11:30  am

Distance Learning Fair – Friday, 2:15 pm – 3:45 pm

Software Fair – Saturday, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

The fairs are a chance to hear from a number of presenters demonstrating their favorite Web site, distance teaching strategy or site, or instructional software program. Each presenter has 10 minutes, so you’ll get a lot of information in a short time. Then come back during browsing time to check out the sites.

Hands-on Labs

Hands-on Labs in three rooms will allow participants to get hands on training on a variety of software programs. These programs are scheduled in the program book just like a regular session.
